Remembrance in Muirkirk
Remembrance Sunday was marked in the Village by a service at the local Cenotaph, which was conducted by the Rev. Scott Rae MBE and the Rt. Rev Monsignor Jack Sheridan. There was a good turnout of Members of the Public, together with the British Legion and Boys Brigade.
The Legion Colour Party consisted of Mr. Hugh Fife and Mr. John Holland with Mr. David Aitkinson as Colour Commander.

Mr. Michael O'Brien St. Thomas' RC Church
Bro. Robert England Loyal Orange Order
Legionnaire Frank Bone, the local RBLS Branch Chairman, delivered the Legion Exhortation and Legionnaire Ray Forman recited the Kohima Epitaph. The Lament was played by Pipe Major Ricky Shearer from Muirkirk & District Pipe Band, who did likewise at the Church Service.
Wreaths were also laid at the Miners' Memorial, in memory of those in Reserved Occupations and the Support Services. Mr. George Park laid the wreath on behalf of the RBLS and Mrs. Elaine Kelso did likewise on behalf of the Community Council.
On completion of the Parade, a Service of Remembrance was conducted by the Rev. Scott Rae in the Parish Church, which was followed by tea and coffee in St. Thomas' Church Hall.
