TWO OCHILTREE shopowners claim they've lost half their takings following major water works on their street.

The roadworks have only been operational for a week but brothers Naveed Akthar and Bilal Ahamd who own Ochiltree Store on Main Street say they've lost £4,500 in seven days.

Scottish Water, who are carrying out a 60 mile upgrade of water mains say they are reaching a 'key stage' in their project which will benefit 40,000 in Ochiltree, Cumnock, Mauchline and Logan.
