Christening tradition
THIS bouncing tot might be new to the world - but she is dressed in a century of New Cumnock tradition.
Little Torey-Lee was the star of her christening ceremony in Cramlington, England, on Sunday wearing the same gown that had first been worn by her late great grandfather here in East Ayrshire exactly 100 years ago.
John Park - known locally as Jock - had worn the hand-made outfit and despite being passed down a line of family members it is still as white as it was all those years ago.
Jock's son John also wore the garment and when he met new wife Yvonne some years later they moved to England - and took the dress with them. Their daughter Terri was next to wear it before her first child Torey-Lee became the latest family member to take the tradition.
And she did so with a smile in front of her proud family members as they welcomed the new addition into the fold.
