HIGH NOTE: Irish folk legends The Fureys with Davey Arthur will perform on Saturday night
AUCHINLECK is gearing up for an array of music, arts, crafts and fun activities in this weekend's Alive and Kicking Festival.
After the success of last year's inaugural festival organisers Auchinleck Community Development Initiative (A.C.D.I.) were keen to put on another show the area can be proud of.
This year's event, which runs from Friday to Sunday, will welcome Irish folk legends the Fureys with Davey Arthur as its headline act on Saturday night.
Other top notch acts lined-up include Sorn singing sensation Jo-Dee, three-piece act AngelStar, Western performers Eastwood, Kevin Rodger as Michael Bublé and Paolo Martini as Paolo Nutini.
The Railway Hotel, Market Inn, Boswell Arms, Auchinleck Talbot Social Club and the Outdoor Bowling Club will all be hosting live music throughout the weekend.
Family entertainment also forms an integral part of Alive and Kicking and local residents and the many visitors who travel to the event will enjoy a festive funfair, an art exhibition and a craft fair.
The gala will feature classic vehicles, a brass band performance, children's entertainers, a reptile exhibition, a bike time trial skills section courtesy of Glen Afton Mountain Bike Club, birds of prey display and much more.
For a full line-up of events see this week's paper.
