THE CHRONICLE believes our area deserves a better broadband service than it currently has.

And we want YOU to help us deliver the message that we want the "superfast" internet speeds other parts of the country enjoy..

And a whopping 94.5 per cent of our readers agree we deserve a better service!

For years now we have heard successive governments claim they want superfast access for everyone but so far only cities seem to have anything near to what internet suppliers proudly advertise.

In June we highlighted startling figures whiched showed Kilmarnock and Loudon as the 12th worst in the UK with more than half of the population - which includes Auchinleck, Mauchline, Catrine Sorn, and Muirkirk - have to endure painstakingly slow downloads, uploads and browsing.

While 47 per cent of Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock covering Cumnock, New Cumnock, Lugar, Logan, Dalmellington, Bellsbank, Drongan, Rankinston and Dalrymple are in a similar position.

Kilmarnock and Loudon MP Cathy Jamieson has thrown her weight behind the Chronicle's campaign. Ms Jamieson said: "I'm am delighted that the Chronicle has taken up this worthy campaign and I hope together we can put pressure on the Westminster to give people the service they deserve."

We want to hear from everyone who is missing out on life in the fast lane because of poor internet speeds.

Is your BUSINESS being affected by bad broadband?

Is your COMMUNITY GROUP suffering because of slow like internet?

Are you being killed by lag in VIDEOGAMES or do you have to wait an age to download MUSIC?

Or are you like tv and movie lover Jim Thomson from Mauchline who is unable to STREAM television programmes from on demand services because your broadband is "up and down like a fiddlers elbow?"

Or are you in the same boat as residents who are only five miles away from the nearest exchange but have been told they will NEVER be able to get broadband.

Let us know and join our crusade!
