Bad Weather Delays Pool Opening

SWIMMERS hoping to go for a dip at New Cumnock's outdoor pool were left high and dry on Saturday.

But Managing Director of New Cumnock Environmental Volunteers (NERV), Jimmy Carmichael insists it was the bad weather - not money problems - which saw the pool missing its summer opening.

As the Chronicle reported last month NERV, who have leased the outdoor pool at The Castle from East Ayrshire Council since 2001, do not have the funding to keep it afloat beyond the summer.

Weather permitting the Pool WILL be open this Saturday (June 4) from noon till 4pm. Admission is FREE so make a splash.
