A BRIDE and groom are putting a BAN on guests watching the Royal Wedding on their special day.

For Frances Nicoletti and Colin McVey from Mauchline say their Wedding day is about them.

Mechanical engineer Colin, 27 will tie the knot with fiancée of four years Frances, 25 at Lochside House Hotel, New Cumnock on Friday, April 29.

Colin and Frances from Donaldson Crescent are already sick of hearing about Prince William and Kate Middleton's big day after the Royal pair revealed their plans to the world in January.

Colin said: "It was nice at first but you get sick to your back teeth hearing about it. We kind of knew it was coming. They kept saying they would announce a date in April. Once people start talking about it I give up listening.

Colin added: "We're turning off all the tellies so no one can see it. It's as if half the folk have forgotten it's our wedding day too. It's no longer our wedding day. It's just the same day as the Royal Wedding."

And the clash with dates has made organising their own ceremony more difficult. Bride-to-be, Frances said: "I didn't expect it to cause so much hassle. We can't get couriers to deliver our flowers and we have to pick up our own cake from Glasgow on Thursday night. There's not very much we can do about it. They picked our day, and they'll be married before us as well. At least it will be a nice wee reminder for us. Colin has no excuse to forget our anniversary now!"

Radiographer, Frances will wear a dress from Bridge Weir bridal salon Mystique at her "sweetie themed" wedding.

Kate Middleton vowed to reveal nothing about her wedding dress until the moment she enters Westminster Abbey on Friday. Frances confessed she may lift the TV ban for herself to catch a glimpse of Kate's wedding gown. She added: "I won't have time to watch it. I might put the TV on in the morning it to see what her dress is like."

Frances said: "I knew Colin was the one. He's my Prince - when he's behaving. "

Former Mauchline Primary and Auchinleck Academy pupil, Colin added: "Frances is my Princess, she'll definitely look like one when she walks down the aisle on Friday."

The newlyweds will then jet-off for their Honeymoon to enjoy a fortnight in the Maldives. Colin added: "Fortunately the Royals aren't going there!

Lochside Wedding Co-ordinator, Lynsey Hewitson said: "We're delighted to have our own ceremony to coincide with the Royal Wedding. We're sure we will give Frances and Colin a memorable day they will treasure forever."
