CASEY Bell celebrated a very special - not to mention interesting - birthday last Sunday.

The Greenmill Primary pupil was 10 on 10/10/10.

What’s even more remarkable was Casey’s introduction to the world.

The youngster, who has two sisters - Sophie, 7, and Ashley, 8 - was born three months premature, scuppering her chances of being the first child to be born in Scotland in the year 2001.

Lisa Coughtrie, Casey’s mum, said: “Her due date was 01/01/01. We were worried and shocked when she was premature.

“She just appeared and it was completely unexpected, but thankfully she was fine.” Lisa and partner Peter Bell, took Casey and her friends for a day of fun at the weekend.

Lisa said: “We took Casey and her pals to Kilmarnock for the day.

“They went to the Galleon, then we took them for a nice lunch, before they went to get their nails done.”
