Glenbuck's most famous son, Bill Shankly, is to have a whisky named after his birthplace.
The limited edition Islay-made whisky Glen of the Buck will consist of 1892 bottles to coincide with Liverpool FC's establishment and each bottle will come in its very own handmade gift box featuring Bill Shankly's name prominently.
It is expected that with the sale of the club to the owners of the Boston Red Sox, American interest will be high.
However, with prices starting at £39 (for the first 250 bottles), the collectable tipple may appeal only to the dedicated few.
