Society keeps Keir Hardie's ideas alive

KEIR Hardie.

A SOCIETY aimed at recognising the legacy of Keir Hardie has been officially launched.

Two years after the idea was mooted at a meeting in Cumnock Town Hall Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley MSP Cathy Jamieson joined Trade Union leaders at the weekend to formally launch the group.

The Keir Hardie Society was the brainchild of Richard Leonard, a member of Labour's Scottish Executive Committee, and will take steps to promote the life and work of the Labour Party's first leader.
