Customers attend Jobcentres every day to get help finding work, but what about the people who don’t seek Jobcentre Plus’s services?

Jobcentre Plus in Ayrshire has secured funding to deliver the only Community Outreach Project in Scotland.

The project aims to tackle worklessness within local communities, Lochside and Whitletts in Ayr and Onthank, Altonhill, Hillhead & Longpark in Kilmarnock

The ‘Work for You’ team will offer a flexible, customer-focussed approach working with individuals and households aiming to change the lives of whole families helping prevent the culture of unemployment being handed down through generations.

Robert McKay, District Manager for Jobcentre Plus in Ayrshire says:

“By working with a range of local partners and social landlords we plan to provide a co-ordinated approach to identify where support is needed.

“Our team of advisers will work within the communities they serve engaging with households to offer and deliver an advisory service exploring and removing barriers into work.

“This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference and help people turn their lives around”.

For more information about the new ‘Work for You’ project please call Community Outreach Project Manager Moira Kelly on 01292 666080 or e-mail Moira at moira.kelly@jobcentreplus.gsi.gov.uk
