Auchinleck singer Nicola Cassells has had a busy six months since she won the Retail Trust Award.
Here's an update from her:
I'm still working in H Samuels in Ayr Kyle Centre and still love my job - but I'm also busy performing, which I love even more!
It's been a hectic six months but I'll try and get everything in order as best I can...
-March 6th performing at House Of Fraser, Oxford Street, London.
-Still going to Ayrshire Voices, doing Spring Concerts in Ayr and in Edinburgh.
-Sat 13th March Performed at A Mothers Day event in local shopping centre Ayr Central.
- Sunday 21st March Performed my debut at Ayrshire Voices concert as Winner. Was an amazing homecoming type theme, performed my winning song.
- Thursday 25th March Performed in Glasgow at a charity event for Radio Lollipop (Yorkhill Childrens Hospital) Got a really great reception.
- Sunday 28th March after performing for Radio Lollipop I was then invited by the event manager of Glasgow Rocks basketball team to perform at their Basketball Game in Kelvinhall Sports Hall in Glasgow where iIalso met Charlie from the Proclaimers. Then from there I was invited to perform at most home games, I had so much fun doing them! The team made it all the way to the play-off finals and describe me as their 'Lucky Charm'.
-To my delight I was then asked to perform at The Brighthouse finance annual conference, which was held in The Hilton Hotel in Birmingham on 25th May. Everyone was so friendly I had such an amazing time. I met some really amazing people including Sally Gunnell OBE and Steve Redgrave Olympic Gold Medalist. Also got to meet Olly Murs. After perfoming I received a standing ovation! It was so surreal, but I loved it!
-Friday 28th May I performed at the Raddisson Hotel in Glasgow for a Ladies lunch for MS Society charity ''Lunch In The City'', which was covered by No.1 magazine. I got to take my mum and my gran, it was really fun. The event described me as ''Ayr's Hidden Gem'' which was lovely.
-Saturday 29th May I performed at a Marie Curie fundraiser event at Tynecastle in Edinburgh, this was something organised by employees of Signet and was also a very successful night.
-Saturday 12th June I was asked to be a judge at a talent contest held in Maybole called The C Factor. They wanted me as there 'local celeb' (haha) . Was strange being the judge rather than performing! iIthen got my chance to perform after.
-On Tuesday 22nd June, I performed at a Harvey Nichols event in Edinburgh, which was good. I got to meet Michelle Mone who was also at the event. This was a Retail Trust event.
-Thursday 24th June I was performing at my own concert in Walker Hall Troon for Care Scotland who had there annual summer outing.
- On Friday 25th June I was invited along to the opening of The Music Garden at Malcolm Sargeant House in Prestwick. Sharleen Spiteri and Sir Tom Hunter were also at the event.
-On Aug 6th I was the opening act at the inaugural Alive and Kicking music festival held in Auchinleck. Which I feel is a big honour.
There are also many things coming up in the pipeline...
-On September 10th I will be singing at Bighearted Scotland Awards held in the Grand Central hotel in Glasgow. Lorraine Kelly will be presenting the awards and it will be broadcast on STV.
- Sept 25th I will be taking part in a fundraising concert at Auchinleck Chapel hall.
-I am doing various corporate events such as, In September I am perfoming at The Carrick Hotel in Loch Lomond at the Scottish Retail Trust Golf Tournament.
-In October I am performing at at Cameron House in Loch Lomond for A Breast Cancer Awareness Lunch.
-In November I am performing at a Marie Curie Fundraiser event in Glasgow.
Also in November I will be singing at the 'Scout movement' anual ball held in the Raddisson Hotel, Glasgow.
-In December I will be performing at the Grand Scottish Retail Trust Ball.
I've had some positive interest from a major label as well as agencies, but don't want to say anything till anything gets confirmed.
