Strathclyde Police is continuing enquiries after a man was assaulted in Kilmarnock in the early hours of Monday 9 August 2010.
Around 0210 hours, on Monday, CCTV operators saw a blood stained man walking on Grange Street, Kilmarnock and alerted nearby officers.
The man was found to be seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock where he was detained until the following day with multiple injuries including a head injury.
The man has no recollection of how he came to be injured.
Detective Constable Bob Reid, speaking today at Kilmarnock CID said:-
“I am very keen to speak to anyone, passers-by or in vehicles, who were in the Grange Street area of Kilmarnock in the early hours of Monday morning and may have seen this man or have any knowledge of how he came to be injured.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who knows why this serious assault happened or has any knowledge of the person or persons responsible.
