East Ayrshire Council was pleased to welcome four new apprentices to its Housing Asset Services section recently - including one lad from New Cumnock.

Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of the Council, said: “These young men and young woman have a great opportunity in the palm of their hands and I’m sure that they will make the most of it. I would like to wish them every success with their apprenticeships, and look forward to seeing them become a great asset to the Council’s workforce.”

The apprentices are:

Stacey Redmond, Stewarton Apprentice Plumber

Stevie Rae, New Cumnock Apprentice Plumber

Grant Prophet, Irvine Apprentice Electrician

Michael Gavin, Galston Apprentice Plasterer
