East Ayrshire's got green fingers

The judging of the 14th annual East Ayrshire Council Garden Competition is now complete and for the seventh time since 2000, the winners of the Best Overall Garden category are Mr and Mrs Moore of Southcraigs Holdings, Kilmarnock.

The Best Council Garden award went to Mr and Mrs Spence of 5 Raithburn Avenue, Kilmarnock.

Councillor Kathy Morrice, Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing said: "The garden competition rewards those in our communities who take pride in their gardens and their communities. All of the entrants work incredibly hard in their gardens and this has a very positive effect on the streets and towns in which they live. Special congratulations go to Mr and Mrs Moore on their seventh win - a remarkable achievement of which they should be very proud."
