New Act Lined-Up For Festival

Abbamania will play at the 'Alive and Kicking' Festival
TALENTED singer and song writer, Iain Morrison has been confirmed to appear at the 'Alive and Kicking' Festival.
Iain and his band will join Skerryvore on the 7 August bill at the Auchinleck Indoor Bowling Club.
Iain hails from Lewis and he recently received a five star review in the Glasgow Herald for his performance at this year's Celtic Connections. Prior to heading out on his own Iain led the acclaimed band, Crash my Model Car and his existing band members have played in the past with Capercaillie and the Endrick Brothers.
He joins a great line-up of acts for the festival weekend with something to suit all musical tastes. These include Abbamania, ITV 'Stars in your Eyes' winner David Burrows as Jon Bon Jovi, ex- Bay City Roller, Eric Faulkner, The MacDonald Brothers, Simple Touch, The La Fontaines, Symptoms as well as local favourites such as The Ghosties, Borealis, Inde Code and Sonix. There will also be folk, traditional, bluegrass and country and western sessions around town.
The 'Alive and Kicking' weekender is being run by the Auchinleck Community Development Initiative. Other activities from 6 to 8 August include an arts exhibition, children's arts and storytelling club, crafts fair, ecumenical church service, cup-tie football match and of course the Auchinleck Gala Day. In addition their will be the official opening of the new Trim Trail to coincide with the festival.
Neil McGhee, spokesperson for the A.C.D.I commented, "This is an exciting weekend for Auchinleck residents as we get ready to stage so many great concerts and community activities. I would also like to express our gratitude to the Minerals Trust, Darvel Music Company, Yipworld and all the venues and businesses for their support, guidance and motivation to stage our event".
