Voters across Cumnock, Doon Valley and Upper Nithsdale kept the status quo be returning their presiding parties to power - and waking up to a Hung Parliament following the knife edge election.
Almost 140,000 voters across the three constituencies came out to mark their ballot hoping to make a difference.
Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley MSP Cathy Jamieson took the Kilmarnock and Loudon MP with a healthy majority of 12,378 in last Thursday's election gathering 24,460 votes, 3484 more than retiring Labour MP Des Browne.
Re-elected MP for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock, Sandra Osborne, retained her seat by a healthy margin. The Labour member received 21,632 votes, a majority of 9,911.
Incumbent Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell, who represents constituents in Kelloholm, Kirkconnel and Upper Nithsdale, became Scotland's lone Tory returning to power with 17,457 votes - more than 4000 ahead of closest rival Labour candidate Claudia Beamish. Mr Mundell put his re-election down to his own record as an MP trying to represent people "whether they vote for me or not".
