Gangs: Don't be drawn in

POLICE have launched a fresh crackdown on gang violence across the area.

And anti-gang officers are set to be deployed in Drongan in a bid to prevent future trouble caused by large groups of youths.

Action plans are currently targeting the areas where gang violence and youth disorder is most prevalent.

Officers are asking youths in or on the periphery of gangs to think about their behaviour "before it's too late".

Superintendent Dougie Robertson, the Sub-Divisional Officer for East Ayrshire, explained: "Territorialism and gang related violence tends to raise its head at this time of the year and we cannot become complacent."
