Blair starts regime as town centre cop

TOWN CENTRE BEAT: Constable Blair Caddis.
By Alistair Neil
CUMNOCK'S first ever designated town centre cop has this week taken up his new reigns.
Constable Blair Caddis swung into action on Monday morning to become the new face of public reassurance.
Blair, 22, has been in the force for three and a half years and already has plenty experience of serving in the Cumnock area.
His remit is to give assistance to local residents, businesses and visitors and will undertake regular high visibility patrols to support the ongoing work of existing officers.
Superintendent Dougie Robertson, the Sub-Divisional Officer for East Ayrshire, explained Blair's arrival will form part of the wider regeneration of Cumnock town centre.
He said: "Blair will liaise with shops and businesses in the area and will become a well known face to everyone in and around the town centre.
"He'll be on foot patrol and will have a strong presence."
