Ayrshire employers responded to the call to Back Young Britain by turning out to show their support at a recent event in Troon.
Organised by Jobcentre Plus and held at the Piersland House Hotel, over 25 employers found out how to offer an apprenticeship, give a young person a job and provide work experience.
Robert McKay, District Manager for Jobcentre Plus in Ayrshire said:"Employers from Ayrshire proved they are keen to show their support to the government's Backing Young Britain campaign by agreeing to provide more opportunities for young people.
"This campaign is a rallying call to businesses, charities and government bodies to create more opportunities for young people aged between 18 and 24."
Kevin Gardiner from ISS Waterers based in Kimarnock said, "It was an excellent event, I am so glad I was able to attend, and my colleague Jim was equally impressed"
Brian Mills from Timbermills in Cumnock concluded, "I always like the opportunity to attend Jobcentre Plus events to keep up to date with the latest initiatives. I have found this Backing Young Britain event really worthwhile and enjoyed the speakers who were able to highlight the benefits of recruiting a young person"
