Fed-up residents in Catrine are backing a petition demanding immediate action to tackle speeding village motorists.

Their concern has been brought into sharp focus following a major smash at the corner of Mauchline Road and Ballochmyle Street.

And this week, rural road safety has been highlighted with a new Government campaign - while speed cameras are to be sited at various points in East Ayrshire to crack down on boy racers.
