Thousands of pounds worth of copper cable has been stolen from a power line near Sorn in the latest high value theft to hit the area.

The raid took place only 24 hours after crooks hit the Dunaskin heritage Centre in Patna for the second time the space of a month, nabbing specialised tools worth thousands.

Police say the callous thieves risked serious injury by tackling the Sorn line that at the time had 11000 volts pumping through it.
