An Auchinleck man has been arrested over an alleged racial abuse of Clydebank footballer Chris Mackie at the weekend writes ALISTAIR NEIL.

The incident is reported to have taken place during Talbot's 1-0 Scottish Junior Cup defeat by the Bankies at Beechwood Park on Saturday.

A 27-year-old man from Barbieston Road, Auchinleck was detained in custody and appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the alleged incident.
