Kids in New Cumnock enjoyed fabulous Kids Club Fun Day on Saturday 6 February, thanks to the outstanding dancing skills of club mates Abbie Grozier and Jenny Houston.
Along with Kids Club Assistant Roxanne McCutcheon, the girls did their club proud as they battled it out on the dance floor at the Kids Club Network Christmas party back in December.
At the party, run by Leisure Development's Recreation Partnership Service, the girls participated in a Dance Mat Challenge along with dancers from eight other East Ayrshire Kids Clubs before securing the top prize of a Fun Day for their own club, having been awarded the highest score of the competition.
In the run up to the Christmas party, dance competitions were held to find the best dancers in the three categories: Primary 1-3, Primary 4-7 and a leaders' category. At the party, the best dancers from each club took to the floor in a bid to win the Fun Day for their club.
Councillor Kathy Morrice, Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for these young girls and is an excellent example of how initiatives like our Kids Clubs can directly benefit the lives of our young people and our communities."
The New Cumnock Fun Day was held in New Cumnock Games Hall and included Dance Mats and Zig Zag Wall from the Drongan Health Initiative and a bouncy castle.
