Are you looking for a way to get fit this year while raising money for charity? Why not take part in Swimathon 2010?
The world's biggest fundraising swim will be taking place this April at Doon Valley Leisure Centre, Dalmellington and the Council's Leisure Services are looking for local people to take part in this exciting fundraising opportunity.
There are three distance challenges, 5k, 2.5k and 1.5k, and there are also timed team challenges so there is something on offer for every level of swimmer. There has been a great deal of interest in this event and places are limited so sign up today!
Councillor Kathy Morrice, Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing said: "Swimathon 2010 is a national event which attracts swimmers the width and length of the country. It is a great way of getting fit and also raising money for a very worthwhile charity - Marie Curie Cancer Care. The beginning of the year is a great time to set yourself a big challenge so why not start training today? A three month unlimited pass for Doon Valley Leisure Centre is only £65 and you will receive lots of encouragement from our employees who will be helping participants train for the challenge."
