Moira's Grit Expectations

Doon Valley Councillor Moira Pirie has called for action to prevent last winter's ungritted roads chaos.

But the Heads of Roads and Transportation says communities will be taken into account during the cold season.

Councillor Pirie said: "Last winter our streets and roads became ice rinks due to the lack of salt for gritting. Elderly Valley folk and people with mobility problems had great difficulty trying to get around the treacherously slippy streets."
