A Catrine group's plans to run their village cars on bio-fuel could see them win £400k and have their journey documented on telly.

The Catrine Community Trust is one of five organisations in Scotland to be shortlisted for 'Village SOS', a new initiative from the Big Lottery Fund and the BBC.

Organisations were asked to come up with ideas for their village which would re ignite life and energy into the local community.

The trust has already received an initial development fund of £10,000 and will be selecting their Village Champion to assist them in developing a business plan to be submitted in March 2010.
