Stats Reveal School Meals Uptake Figure As One In Five

Only one fifth of kids in East Ayrshire qualify for school meals.

But the council's Head of Facilities Management, Robin Gourlay says school meals remain a council priority with healthy eating and living being taught at a young age.

The research carried out by Global Media Briefing for the Labour Party shows that just 20% of East Ayrshire pupils, 1,716 kids, are entitled to school meals.
