Locals In Chase For Charity Award

A voluntary first-aider has made the finals of the West FM and West Sound Community Awards.

And three more local organisations have been recognised by the awards.

First-aider Scott Faulkner, 21 from Low Burnside in Cumnock is in the running for the Up and Coming Youngster Award.

And for the last two years Scott has been a regular at a number of events in Cumnock and Doon Valley being on call with the St Andrew's ambulance team at the Cumnock Music Festival, Mauchline Holy Fair and Kames Race track.

And Dalmellington Fundraiser, Lorna Dempsey's Butterfly Events team are pitted head to head with the Woodroad Regeneration Forum in the battle for the Best Local Charity.

Also in the running for the prestigious West Sound Awards are the Board of Cumnock and District Leisure Group in the Contribution to the Community category.
