Kirkconnel and Kelloholm's long awaited multi-million pound health facility is back on track after a five month delay.
Last Monday all partners came together and settled a deal signing the legal and development documentation for the Mill Hill Centre.
Upper Nithsdale Councillor John Syme, who has been at the forefront of the campaign, hoped the first brick would be laid in April but a dispute between GP contracts left villagers feeling frustrated.
Cllr Syme is delighted the problems have been solved. He said: "The NHS, Council and Upper Nithsdale GP partners have firmly committed to the project. Together we took the bull by the horns and made it happen."
