A former Auchinleck Academy pupil is hoping to fly the flag for Scotland in a prestigious modelling competition.
Gina Mitchell, 18, is only one of two Scots in the top 50 shortlist for the Kerri Parker"s Modelling Agency competition. Now she is hoping a career in modelling could take off if she does well in the public vote.
Gorgeous Gina, who is now living in Kilmaurs, sent her picture off after a recent photoshoot. And she is delighted that she has got this far in a nationwide contest.
She said: 'There were thousands of girls who applied for this competition so its amazing to have gotten this far.'
Gina"s talents also extend to the stage. She has regularly appeared in Mauchline Young Farmers Club"s annual concerts, and she is currently studying an HND course in Musical Theatre in Glasgow.
But it could be that life on the catwalk could be the next step in Gina"s career.
She said: 'I"m really enjoying the course at college. We"ve been learning about acting and dance in the first year. But I"ve always loved the idea of doing modelling and hopefully this will be my chance.
'The public vote closes at the end of the month and hopefully we won"t have too long to find out how it has gone. All those in the top 50 will get kept on their books anyway, so it"s been worthwhile no matter what happens.'
Kerri Parker shot to fame recently with a starring role in the British comedy-horror Lesbian Vampire Killers starring Matt Horne and James Corden.
The winner of the Model of the Year competition receives, amongst other things, a portfolio shoot worth £130 or a Model Tutorial Day with training and portfolio shoot, and a modelling contract with Kerri Parker International model management.
