A Cumnock grandmother met Hollywood's A-list last week as the Edinburgh International Film Festival got into full swing.

Top actress Carmen Ejogo was at the premiere of the latest Sam Mendes film, "Away We Go". And taking in the spectacular was Carmen"s grandmother, Helen Douglas, who hails from Emrys Avenue.

Helen, has previously rubbed shoulders with other big celebrities, having attended the premiere of the James Bond film Casino Royale, in which Carmen"s husband Jeffrey Wright starred as Felix Leitner.

And she was delighted to be in Edinburgh to see her granddaughter - who has previously starred in What"s the Worst That Could Happen with Martin Lawrence - on the big screen in the latest flick from English director Mendes.
