Stone-throwing yobs send men fleeing from woodlands bridge projects.
Workers in Cumnock were inches from death after being attacked by stone-throwing yobs - some as young as ten.
Officials at East Ayrshire Woodlands have branded the incident near to the former "sickening", and that only the positive feedback to the work from the public has kept them going.
Contractors were laying new footpaths and a bridge over the Glaisnock Water to improve links with Netherthird and the Town Centre.
But the excavator driver and his colleague were forced to flee the area when the thugs standing 70 feet above them pelted them with missiles. The yobs threw an empty vodka bottle - and even threaten to come back with a TV.
