Action is to be taken to sort out the roads network in Cumnock and Doon Valley following a damning report on pot-holes.
Ayrshire was this week named the worst in Britain for the state of the its roads, with a study of claims for axle or suspension damage finding 14 percent of cars in the region have fallen victim to potholes in any given year.
The report, by insurance firm Warranty Direct, has prompted calls for an immediate revamp of roads in the local area.
But East Ayrshire Council says the extreme weather has had a detrimental impact on the roads but are promising extra funds to tackle it.
