A local health group says introducing a "Chocolate Tax" wouldn"t provide a quick fix to obesity problems.
The Community Health in Partnership (CHIP) group, who are starting a new project called "Weight off Wisely" to tackle the obesity levels in Cumnock say more needs to be done to make healthier foods more accessible and cheaper for people on small budgets.
A potential "tax" on chocolate and sugary treats was vetoed at a national meeting of GPs last week.
And the CHIP project say that the Government need to look at new measures.
