Netherthird families had to be evacuated while firefighters battled a ferocious blaze.
A 200-metre exclusion zone was quickly set-up once fire crews learned they were dealing with "potential missiles in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The blaze had threatened "unstable" acetylene cylinders while a large quantity of aerosol cans stored nearby had began to self destruct.
The inferno was tackled by 15 appliances, with 60 firefighters battling "horrendous conditions" hampered by snowfall and high winds.
And "pockets of fire" were still burning under the collapsed roof on Tuesday afternoon.
