Gang hang-outs are to be targeted next month as the war on violence is stepped up.

Part of a force-wide campaign to stop gang violence, police in Cumnock are to increase patrols in places identified as potential trouble-spots, including the Square in Cumnock and places in Auchinleck and Drongan.

And the ongoing monitoring of social networking sites - including Bebo and Facebook - will also be intensified in a bid to prevent any possible disorder.
