NEW WINDFARM BATTLE BEGINS

Residents in Dalmellington are bracing themselves for another windfarm fight - just months after defeating plans for a development near the village.

Energy company Infinis outlined their plans for a 19-turbine windfarm near to Burnton, at a Community Council meeting last week.

But their plans have already met with strong opposition from a community who objected in its numbers to the 100 turbine Kyle Windfarm which was eventually rejected by the Scottish Government.

And secretary of Dalmellington Community Council, Anne Johnstone says the village will fight just as strongly to stop this new application from going ahead.
