Quick-thinking kept damage to minimum

Local firefighters have been praised for their quick thinking in averting a potential disaster after a vicious blaze in Netherthird last week.

Fire broke out at the Netherthird Working Men"s Club at 10pm on Thursday 26.

Firefighters remained at the scene until 5pm the following day but had to foam down neighbouring buildings to keep the fire from spreading.

Resident Ian Murphy who captured the dramatic scenes on his camera said that it was fortunate no-one was injured.
