A LOCAL soldier is set to star in a TV documentary which will show him following in the footsteps of one of Scotland's greatest ever war heroes.
Mauchline born squaddie Keith Wallace, 20, who serves with The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, is part of a 20 strong group of soldiers who embarked on a 40 mile mountainous hike to retrace the battles of legendary 17th century Scots warrior, General Montrose.
Their exploits are now set to be turned into a television documentary which will appear on BBC 2 on St Andrew's Day.
