LOCAL Councillors have praised the impact a local book festival has had on East Ayrshire.
Imprint, which was held at Kilmarnock's Burns Monument Centre, proved to be a massive success with crowds of locals flocking to hear exerts from the likes of inspirational journalist and former hostage John McCarthy.
John, who was held captive in Lebanon for an incredible five years, wowed the crowds with tales of his capture taken from his new book "You Can't Hide the Sun." The event was also attended by the area's very own award-winning writers William McIlvanney and Stewart Conn.
