Calling All Pipe Bands

AN ELEVENTH-HOUR appeal for pipe bands has been made by Cumnock Highland Games Committee to take part in their parade on Saturday August 20.

Bands are urged to call the Highland Games Committee on 424541 or 07895837005 to discuss travel arrangements.

The event , which takes place at Cumnock's Broomfield Sports Arena on the Saturday and Sunday, is in its sixth year.

This year's Chieftain - hotelier Robert Kyle - will join last year's Chieftan Bill Staffrord to parade to the field to start the Mini Tattoo.

On Sunday the Golden Lions Parachute Team will drop in to join pipe bands, dancers, and strong men from all over the world.

Tickets will be available at the gate and cost £5 for Adults, £2 for Child (Children under 5 free), £3 Concessions, £10 Family Ticket (two adults and two children).
