PARTY spirit hit Cumnock last weekend as the town held its annual Carnival.

Hundreds descended on Woodroad Park to enjoy the festivities with various attractions for young and old.

Carnival queen Chloe Corbett was crowned to start the show and Cumnock citizen of the year Jim McMillan officially opened the day by welcoming the crowds to the park.

Attractions on the day included various stalls, a bouncy slide, quad bikes and a hog roast.

There were several performers on the main stage during the day.

These included a Punch and Judy show by Magic Malky, which amused younger Carnival goers.

Also on show was a birds of prey display and the ever popular Kirsty's Critters with their array of rare animals.

Anyone looking for something a bit more chilled would enjoy the laid back rhythms of Samba ya Bamba who performed throughout the day.

Music was also delivered by The Train Wreckers who performed their unique brand of rock and roll to the delight of the crowds.

One of the most impressive displays came from the spectacular 360 bikers who demonstrated an array of tricks and stunts, despite the slippery surface caused by persistent rain throughout the day.

Despite this the day was a success and the crowds enjoyed the varied attractions on show which DAVID KERR captured.
