The proposed Town Centre regeneration won"t be completed until 2015 at the earliest, the Chronicle understands.

East Ayrshire Council recently unveiled their masterplan for the projects, which included detailed proposals for the new Council offices.

When the Council has yet to confirm time scales for completion, the Chronicle has learned through sources that they don"t expect the entire two-phase project to finish for at least another six years.

And the Council have admitted publicly that the Credit Crunch could impact their plans for the retail sector in the town however they are looking at alternatives should the ongoing economic problems continue.
