A Cumnock volunteer will be spending Christmas thousands of miles away from the family this year.
Christopher Jackson, 22, is swapping turkey and trimmings at home for a ten-week stint helping under-priviledged people in the Palampur region of India.

Christopher said: 'This something I"ve always wanted to do. Although I"m expecting a bit of a culture shock I"m really excited about it.'
