Cumnock Academy’s prom committee sizzled on the catwalk during a superb fashion show at the end of March 2009. To raise money for that year’s prom, the school held the event and managed to secure some retail big-hitters as sponsors.
Dalmellington 33rd Ayrshire Scout Group held a fundraising Duck Race in the Muck Burn at the end of March 2009.
Bargain hunters got a treat or two at St Patrick’s Primary’s Bring and Buy sale in 2009. The event was part of a number of fundraisers pupils had taken part into raise vital funds for the SCIAF charity.
A mother and daughter from Auchinleck were given the chance to check out the House of Commons in March, 2009. Georgina Mackin and her daughter Elizabeth, were invited to attend Prime Minister’s Questions by local MP Des Browne. Georgina and her civil servant daughter had a great day out in the Palace of Westminster.
A path into the construction industry was on the cards as the result of a building relationship between Drongan Primary and a local business in 2009. Primary 7 pupils from the school visited Hope Home Scotland’s Manse Green development to learn more about the building trade.
Jeepers creepers: the little ‘uns at Auchinleck Nursery got a visit from some exotic creatures in March 2009. Kirsty Robertson, of Kirsty’s Critters, popped in to show the kids some spiders, snakes, bugs and a few other creepy crawlies. The youngsters lapped it up, although the staff were not quite too sure...
