A new campaign has launched in East Ayrshire to keep people safe during the Easter holidays.

Police officers were joined by partners at East Ayrshire Council, local elected members, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and EAC's Vibrant Communities team to launch the campaign.

It aims to tackle anti-social behaviour, drug misuse, road safety and acquisitive crime in the authority.

Inspector Iain Farmer said: “Today saw the launch of how police and partners will keep people safe during the holiday period.

"There continues to be issues with anti-social behaviour within the local communities and I encourage parents and carers to be aware of where their young people are and what they are doing.

“Police and partners will be providing additional patrols within the local areas during the holiday with a host of activities being provided and made available through Vibrant Communities to keep young people entertained.”

Should you see any issues within your local area please contact police on 101 or if in an emergency contact 999 or use the Contact Us page on the Police Scotland website.
