The price of a historic New Cumnock farm has been cut on the market.
Burnton Farm, marketed by the Galbraith Group, initially went on the market back in January, with the firm seeking offers of more than £375,000.
The asking price of the 7.3-acre site has been cut, with Galbraiths now looking for offers over £340,000.
Once believed to be the home of the Marquess of Bute, the farm is still looking for its next owner.
Galbraith Group says the property requires modernisation and refurbishment, allowing the new owners to "modernise to their desired specification".
There is also the potential to extend the accommodation or convert the adjoining stone barn, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents.
The farmhouse currently has accommodation for a sitting room with open fire, living room, four bedrooms, and kitchen with walk-in larder.
There is also a family bathroom, separate WC and an additional staircase which leads to the former maid’s quarters.
Vivien Wright of Galbraith, who is handling the sale, said: “This is a superb opportunity to acquire a traditional farmhouse with a manageable amount of land and an excellent range of outbuildings which are adaptable and could be used for a variety of business purposes and stabling.
“In addition the adjoining traditional buildings have great potential to provide further accommodation, subject to planning permission.
"There is a manageable amount of land and the setting is peaceful while being easily accessible to Ayr.
"This property offers a wonderful lifestyle and we expect a high degree of interest.”
