A NIGHT-TIME raid on a Mauchline pharmacy failed after the culprit triggered a highly-sensitive alarm system.
It happened at premises in Loudoun Street at 2.25am on June 29 when the suspect broke a window to gain entry.
Although his break-in attempt failed, police are anxious to speak to witnesses who may have been alerted by the window smashing or the alarm going off.
The man believed to be responsible had his face covered but a description has been circulated by police as they track down the would-be robber.
He is 5ft 9in, slim built and was wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans.
Anyone who can help with police investigations is asked to contact PC Black, U541, by calling 101.
Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously by using the Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
