A TASK force of highly trained police personnel armed with Tasers has been put together to deal with violent incidents.
East Ayrshire, in common with other divisions in Scotland, are about to have a team of specially trained officers (STOs) who are ready to use the equipment when needed.
Chief Superintendent Paul Main, Divisional Commander for Ayrshire, explained what scenarios will call for the use of Taser which temporary floors the target with an electric shock.
In many cases when someone causing trouble sees the bright yellow device, which can be used at a split second’s notice, they have second thoughts.
